Information and Assistance
Assistance from the Council on Aging staff comes in many forms, ranging from help with housework and daily tasks to understanding complex forms and managing home finances.

We employ several homemakers who are available to help seniors with dishwashing, laundry, bill paying, grocery shopping and other daily jobs, in addition to offering a friendly person to visit with or a chance for caretakers to take a much-needed break.  Services are available to those over age 60 as well as disabled, with a suggested donation rate of $10 per hour.

State Health Insurance Assistance Program
Our staff also employs SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) counselors trained in helping clients with Medicare, Social Security and related issues.

Meals & Nutrition
Meals are provided Monday through Friday in the Lewistown area in two formats.  We serve a daily dining room lunch meal at noon in our Lewistown facility.  We also provide a home-delivered meal program.  All meals follow the USDA recommendations for senior nutrition.  

Home-Delivered Meal Program
This program is designed for homebound seniors over the age of 60.  Individuals under 60 may also qualify if they are disabled or recovering from a period of hospitalization.  A physician’s note stating that the applicant would benefit from our service is required to enter the program.  An FCCOA worker will do a brief assessment of each applicant.  The suggested donation for a home-delivered meal is $4.00.  Our drivers start delivering meals at 11am.  Meals are delivered Monday through Friday.  (Frozen meals are available upon request and are delivered on Fridays).

We are closed on holidays.  (We do deliver special meals prior to each holiday.)

Dining Room Lunches
People who are over age 60 and are not disabled or homebound are welcome at our congregate meal, offered Monday through Friday at 12:00 noon at our facility at 307 W. Watson.  The suggested donation for this meal is $4.00.
