About Fergus County Council on Aging
Fergus County Council on Aging provides a wide variety of programs to senior citizens in Fergus County. Primary services include meal services, transportation services and the operation of their second-hand store, The Treasure Depot.
Many of these services are provided by a large pool of volunteers who help the center run efficiently. If you have extra time and are interested, volunteers are always needed. Please contact the office for more information.
With over 45,000 individual contacts annually, FCCOA serves over 32,000 lunch meals through their Dining Room program and over 7,500 meals through their Home Delivery program. The kitchen is overseen by long-time manager, Joy Sullivan, while Andrea Krause manages the baking.
The Central Montana Shuttle provides over 24,500 daily rides within Fergus County. Over 900 weekly rides to Billings and Great Falls are provided, with 2 buses running to and from on given days. This service is open to the transit-dependent public, with rides tailored to the needs of the passengers.
The Treasure Depot second-hand store is staffed by approximately 20 volunteers and provides for the collection and distribution of clothing, household items, books, toys and collectibles. It helps many people in the Lewistown area, and is a valuable funding source for FCCOA.
Fergus County Council on Aging is overseen by a 10-member board. Board members are Sandy Thompson, Linda Jones, Denise Seilstad, Ross Butcher, Marjorie Nesselhuf, Jennifer Granot, Amy Patnode, Bobbie Atchison, Ted Murray and Betty Light. Past board member, Bob Eckhardt is pictured above.
